and updated after changing driver to vesa. So, I found a 2013-12 ISo of Mate and installed that. all I got from about midway in the boot process, was multicoloured vertical lines/bars. I was unable to get any of the recent ISOs to give me a screen I could use to tweak things. My new year's job is to try to get this old
